Migration is
Market Analysis + Audit
Understanding the migration landscape
An evaluation of existing data migration platforms, assessing interface clarity, field mapping structure and featured workflows. The analysis revealed usability gaps and design inconsistencies that informed a more user-centred approach to SaaS migration journeys
Auditing Migrate Genie 1.0
An audit of Migrate Genie’s first version across UX flow, UI hierarchy, and functionality. Key limitations in navigation, tracking, and guidance were identified to drive a more intuitive, SaaS-ready redesign.
The core user flow was designed to streamline the migration journey—from setup to validation—while minimizing cognitive load.By breaking the process into clearly guided steps, users are able to navigate complex tasks like source-target selection, field mapping, and scheduling with confidence and clarity.Optional sample runs, error handling, and post-migration insights ensure reliability, efficiency, and a smooth user experience from start to finish.
Product Showcase
Before vs. After
The old mapping screen presented fields in isolation, creating cognitive overload. By restructuring the UI around data categories, expected formats, and inline validation, the new design aligns with how users naturally think and act.
These were guided by the need to reduce friction, clarify next steps, and intuitively support users through critical actions—resulting in a more helpful, structured, and confidence-building migration experience.
